The house
Il Poggiolo was our grandparents’ house: a late-19th-century farmhouse restored without losing its character, with exposed beams, the original terracotta floors and a fireplace big enough to cook in.
The ground floor has the kitchen, the dining room and a living room opening onto the garden. Upstairs there are four bedrooms, three with their own bathroom. The pool is on the south side among the olive trees and gets sun until the evening in summer.
Pienza is ten minutes away by car, Montalcino and Montepulciano half an hour. The last kilometre is a gravel road: fine for any car if you take it slowly.
